Tiffani Thiessen Biography And Filmography: Former child model and pageant winner turned successful television actor, mostly in roles of the good-girl era. Tiffani Thiessen began professionally posing at age eight, appearing in both print and television ads as well as catalogues. After winning the title "Miss Junior America" in 1987, Thiessen moved to series television, playing the girlfriend of the manipulative Zach on the wildly popular Saturday morning teen hit, "Saved By The Bell" (1988-93) about six individual students and their four years at Bayside High School. The success of that series spawned several "Saved By The Bell" television style movies and a short-lived primetime spin-off, "Saved By The Bell: The College Years" (1993-94). After making her feature debut in the Pauly Shore vehicle "Son-in-Law" (1993), Thiessen switched from playing wholesome teen girls to raising hell as troubled brat Valerie Malone on Fox's smash hit "Beverly Hills, 90210". Producers hoped that Thiessen's character would do for "Beverly Hills 90210" what Heather Locklear did for "Melrose Place", that is, add a stimulating dose of bitchiness to spice things up. While Thiessen's addition to "Beverly Hills 90210" did give it a much needed injection of new life, the show was past its prime and quickly becoming a soap opera rather than a drama. Thiessen, with her chic new short hair and large breast implants, played up the role of the sexy bad girl. Thiessen kept a level of authentic acting, even as the storylines around her became more and more bizarre. Tiffani felt, however, that she was increasingly being used as a sex object on the show, and in 1998, decided to leave and pursue a film career. Thiessen appeared in two small budget films in 1999, the comedy "Love Stinks" with Tyra Banks and Bill Bellamy, and the the comedy drama "Speedway Junky" with Jonathan Taylor Thomas, a young teen gay youth story about a naive drifter (Jesse Bradford) who runs away from his Army father in hopes of making it on the car racing circuit. In Las Vegas, he meets a young scam artist (Jordan Brower), who develops a gay crush on him. He is then introduced to a whole gang led by a young gay hustler (Jonathon Taylor Thomas). The racer-to-be then gets a lesson in the wild side, getting involved in one situation after another. Patsy Kensit makes a cameo as another gay hustler and Daryl Hannah appears as the scam artist's surrogate mom. Tiffani Thiessen next appeared in the SNL spin-off film "The Ladies Man" (2000) and starred in the straight to video spoof "Shriek If You Know What I Did Last Friday the Thirteenth" (2000). Although Thiessen had made the difficult transition from child actor to successful adult star, she was finding the infamously difficult move from television to film even more challenging. In 2001, she returned to television with recurring spots on "Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place" starring Ryan Reynolds, and "Just Shoot Me." However, 2002 gave Tiffani her biggest film role yet, in Woody Allen's romantic comedy "Hollywood Ending" starring Tea Leoni. That year also Thiessen return as a cast member on primetime television, reuniting with Bill Bellamy in the Fox crime drama series "Fast Lane", about two undercover cops who take down the highest and lowest criminals in Los Angeles. Since television seemed to be treating her well, Thiessen signed for another television comedy series "Good Morning, Miami" (2002) about a talented young TV producer who arrives in Miami to revamp the lowest-rated morning show in the country. Thiessen then switch from series television to a feature television movie with "Pandemic" (2007) featuring Faye Dunaway and Bruce Boxleitner, a story where the bird flu virus spreads through Los Angeles as a doctor from the CDC races to find a vaccine. Returning to series projects, Thiessen was hired and cast for a five episode deal to appear in the "What About Brian" (2006-2007) starring Barry Watson. From the producers of "Lost" and "Alias" and the screenwriter of "City of Angels" and "For Love of the Game", is this contemporary, heartwarming ensemble show about a group of supportive friends in various stages of romantic relationships and friendships living in Los Angeles. Tiffani Thiessen once again made it back to the big-screen to star in the action film "Weapon" (2008), a story that centers on a lonely U.S. border patrol agent, played by (Tiffani Thiessen), who captures a genetically engineered super-soldier, played by (Rich Franklin). It begins as the soldiers creator, played by (Bruce Greenwood), attempts to hunt them down.
