Eva Longoria Parker Biography And Filmography:

Not one to run away from her visible sex appeal, actress Eva Longoria Parker has excelled at portraying sexy women during her Hollywood career. Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, a town she has often returned to over the years, she was the youngest of four daughters growing up on the family farm. Though gorgeous in her adult years, she has described herself as the most common looking child ever as a young child.

After emerging into a eye-catching young lady, she attended Texas A&M University at Kingsville, where she received her degree in Kinesiology, the study of body movement. When she wasn’t studying, she appeared on stage in university theater productions.

After graduation, she won an Infinity Model Search contest, which led to her discovery by a theatrical agent. She soon found herself in small parts on television, including an episode of “Beverly Hills, 90210” (1990-2000), and was cast as Isabella Brana on the long running daytime soap opera, “The Young and the Restless”.

She won an ALMA Award for Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama in 2002 for her work on the soap opera.  She then hosted “The Talent Agency” (2003), a variety program that was short-lived and not seen by many. In “Hot Tamales Live” she had the opportunity to show her comic talents. But regardless of her experience, she could not make herself a household name. That was all about to change.

She got her first regular television series role as Detective Vanessa Cruz on “L.A. Dragnet” (2002-2004). Joining the ensemble cast after a cast change in 2003, she played the role for one season as the show was canceled in 2004. But her luck changed when she was hired and cast on the project “Desperate Housewives” (2004- ) starring Terri Hatcher, a smash hit that made Hollywood take notice of her talents. A dark comedy about the world of five housewives who live on the same street as told by a friend who committed suicide, “Desperate Housewives” went from an unknown pilot project written by Chuck Pratt to the hottest show on television.

After a small, well deserved vacation, she tried her hand at feature films with “Harsh Times” (2005), a drama starring Christian Bale as a soldier returning from Iraq. She also appeared as Jenny in the mystery, “The Dead Will Tell” (2004), a television movie that was aired on CBS in the Fall 2004.

In 2005, she became the face of Bebe Sport while working for L'Oreal and Hanes as  spokesperson. She also married NBA superstar Tony Parker. In 2006, she portrayed an ambitious secret agent and spy opposite Michael Douglas and Kiefer Sutherland in "The Sentinel" (2006). She next starred with Ben Stiller in the comedy "The Heartbreak Kid" (2007) about a newlywed man who believes he's just gotten hitched to the perfect woman encounters another lady on his honeymoon.

Next was the romantic comedy "Over Her Dead Body" (2008) about a ghost who tries to sabotage her former boyfriend's current relationship with a psychic. Then she lent her vocal talents to the animated comedy "Foodfight!" (2008) starring Charlie Sheen and Hilary Duff, where when the lights are turned off and the doors are locked, chaos reigns supreme for the products in this grocery store. The actress wrapped the year with the comedy "Lower Learning" (2008) about Barry Goldwater Elementary that on the brink of collapse with the lowest test scores in the state, with teachers who are either drunk or having sex on school grounds, and a principal who extorts money from parents.

And with Desperate Housewives still going strong in 2008, there was talk of a spin-off movie for the big screen.
