95 DIALER SETUP
This
article is for those Windows 95 users who
have been surfing the internet without a problem,
and, all of a sudden, your connection refuses
to work! If you get messages like, "?no DNS
available ?quot;, or "?check your password
and try again?quot; read on.
You
could be experiencing the infamous Windows 95
'bug' where your dialer gets corrupt for no apparent
reason. (There is, of course, a reason ?iles necessary
to run the dial-up programs get messed up and
things can't run smoothly-it's not your fault,
it is just the way it is?)
Follow these steps to manually create a new dialer:
1. Double-click the My Computer
icon.

2.
Double-click the Dial-Up Networking
icon.

If you are prompted with a Welcome to Dial-Up
Networking window, click the Cancel
button. (If Dial-Up Networking is
not in My Computer, go to Start,
Programs, Accessories,
Dial-Up Networking from your
Start Button)

3.
Delete all Dialer icons, except Make
New Connection,
that are not being used, including the Primary
icon. (To delete: single-click the icon, from
the menu bar click File, select
Delete, select Yes
)
4.
Double-click the Make New
Connection Icon (see

this: *70,6220526 (dashes are not necessary) You
can key these changes in the phone number box
as needed. (Remember to use correct phone number
from list at left.) Do not include area code.
